Congrats - EAGLES
Congrats to the Philadelphia Eagles for an thrilling win Sunday to not only vanquish the Cowboys, but to win a place in the playoffs to boot. Great job.
Week 3 - Take 2
Well, the third day of this week's 100 push up challenge proved too much. Instead of the 28 pushup minimum, I did 21. 7 short, for those of you counting at home.
I restarted Week 3 the week after Christmas. I plan on doing Day 3, Day 2, Day 3.
Day 3 I went through and only got to 21 AGAIN. Tuesday its Day 2's lower 25 push up minimum. I'm also adding a set to my regular workout and doing some here and there to try to build strenght.

Very tired/sore, but very happy
Well, I added a fourth set of closed grip bench presses and curls to my workout Tuesday and I'm feeling it this morning.
I'm also thinking the push from the 100 push up challenge is factoring in as well.
But its a good sore.
Wanted to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Texeira post comments
I've posted my thoughts on a post about the Nats' contract offer to Mark Texeira on the Oleanders & Morning Glories blog that I follow - great blog, good post and pretty mundane comment, if you're interested.
Here.
Here.
100 push up challenge - Wk 1, Day 2 update
Well, I'm started on the path to 100 push ups.
Week 3, Day 1 (my first day, yeah, I started in Week 3) was pretty easily, frankly - though the last set (20 min) I could only do 22.
Day 2 was harder, even with the longer breaks, and I only just made it to the last set rep minimum of 25.
Here's the week 3 workout schedule, in case your interested.
I could really feel it today in my chest, shoulders and traps after I had completed the sets. I'm doing these in the morning of my regular workouts, which I'm continuing to do without interruption. I'm hoping that by keeping my regular workout sched my strength gains will come faster.
I'm torn too - I can definitely see how this will up the number of push ups I can do. Its a challenging but not too challenging program, but at the same time 30 to 100 in a LONG way. I think I might have recruited my dad to play along, so check back. Week 3, Day 3 is scheduled for Friday this week, since Christmas is on Thursday.

100 pushup update
Kinda quick for a second post, but I just wanted to put it out there... my "exhaustion" test yielded 30 push ups. Not too bad, but a far, far cry from 100. As per the program for my apparent fitness level, I'll probably start on "week 3."
100 push up challenge
This blog, as the title implies and against ALL blogging advice and "how-to" suggestions, is probably going to be about 1000 & 1 things.
Everything from
Like I said, 1,000 & 1 things. But let's start with this, hardly unique, but somewhat interesting challenge that I'll be taking on in the next few weeks...
The 100 push up challenge. You can find the whole program here (with any luck).
I'll get into it more later, but here it is in an nut graph - a six or so week program that at the conclusion, will have you doing 100 consecutive push ups. If any readers want to comment and join in, just let me know. I work out pretty regularly, and do push ups 2x a day, 3x a week. I'll probably be dedicating one of those times each day to fulfilling the program. Stay tuned.
Everything from
- my love of the Philadelphia Eagles,
- to love of and experiences with different teas
- to my love of fitness
- to my goal to lose weight
- to my struggles writing the novel I'm working on,
- to the struggles getting it (hopefully) published,
- to work on my home,
- to my job,
- to my roots in the the newspaper industry and its struggles
- to my libertarian-leaning political opinions ...
